Simple Yet Tasty - Christmas 2009

Christmas is a season where people celebrate the birth of baby Jesus, however in my definition ... It's THE time where family & friends get together on the dining table catching up on how time has rushed us through the 12 months of happiness, joy (not to mention many ups and downs) ... but for some people, it could be difficult times.

This year I made a very simple yet authentic noddle from scratch ... we were pretty pleased with the final outcome because all food were gone in no time! I reckon this second attempt taste better than my first's.

面粉馃 - "Flour Cake Noodle"

面粉馃 ...A popular noodle dish in South-East Asia in particular Singapore and Malaysia. There are many types of handmade noodles - for instances, Ban Mian (板面), Mee Kia (面仔), and Mee Hoon Kueh (面粉馃) easily available at most food court, hawker centre etc. However, I have tried cooking this dish today and pretty easy :) Enjoy!

Miss Marples Tea Room (Victoria)

An hour from Melbourne Airport towards Mt Dandenong and you will find this place with delighted and amazing food near Sassafras. It feels like we were still living in the 50s/60s with hot scones and mushroom soup (Refer attached pictures). Oh, the Christmas in July menu is an absolutely killing dish! Note: the waiting time to get in is usually 2 hours during busy hours.

Address: 382 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Sassafras 3787 open daily from 11am to 4:30pm.

It's hard to achieve perfection some of the time, so attempting to achieve it all of the time is only setting yourself and others up to fail. It's great to have high standards because they lift performance, but reacting negatively to the non-achievement of such high standards will inevitably bring unhappiness to you and those around you ...
